REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA Directed by Darren Lynn Bousman Produced by Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate Written by Darren Smith and Terrance Zdunich Starring Paul Sorvino, Alexa Vega, Paris Hilton, Anthony Head, Bill Mosely, Ogre, Terrance Zdunich and Sarah Brightman, (cameo by Joan Jett)
In the no-so-distant future, a worldwide epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet. Out of the tragedy, a savior emerges: GENECO, a biotech company that offers organ transplants...for a price. Those who miss their payments are scheduled for repossession and hunted by THE REPO MAN. By fusing ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW and BLADE RUNNER, this futuristic tale of horror modernizes the rock opera genre with original music and rich, dark production design. This rock opera boasts an entirely original soundtrack that blends equal parts goth and punk rock to form an eerie and powerful musical narrative. All of the actors performed their own songs, and the music was provided by an all-star lineup that features performances from Richard Patrick (Filter), Steven Perkins (Jane's Addiction), Clown (Slipknot), Ray Luzier (Army of Anyone), Brian Young (David Lee Roth's band), Richard Fortus (Guns & Roses), Sonny Moore (First to Last), David J (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets), Daniel Ash (Love & Rockets), Blasko (Ozzy Osborne), Tommy Clefetus (Rob Zombie's band), Melora Creager (Rasputina). Also lending her voice to the soundtrack is the edgy pop star Poe. Japanese musician and composer Yoshiki Haysahi (of the legendary rock band X-Japan) co-produced the music with Joe Bishara to create one of the most diverse soundtracks in movie history.

Rating: - Repo Man!
This is one of the best albums I have heard in quite some time. The music is superb and gives you the gist of the film's story. You will not be let down.
Rating: - A bloody, Gothic opera
I've listened to this album several times and also went to the opera's website to get more details about the plot since the movie has not come to Peoria, IL. The story is very unusual, bloody, and weird; but, I have a strange sense of humor, and so I think I will enjoy seeing the opera when it gets released on DVD. I certainly liked the music.
I found the music to be quite compelling and I enjoyed the dark, pulsating beat of most of the soundtrack. The soundtrak opens up with "At ... Read More

This soundtrack is amazing. The movie was spectacular and the music is one of the very best parts of it. The sound quality on the songs is fantastic and sounds great. I'm not knowledgeable about music except for that fact that I listen to it constantly, so this is just coming from an avid listener, but I can't say enough great things about this soundtrack.
Each song has a great sound and all of them are very catchy. One or two listens and you'll be singing along to your favorites. My ... Read More
Rating: - Maybe it's better with the visuals...
This is a "metal/goth" opera that wants to be the next big cult film phenomenon (a-la Rocky Horror Picture Show) with young and impressionable high-schoolers in the same way that "Twilight" has tried to.
To sum in up in one sentence, I'd say that if you're not familiar with technical rock music and like the conventional stuff that gets played on "metal" radio like Slipknot,Evanescence, etc. then you'd probably like this and should give it a try.
On the other hand, I thought that the songs ... Read More
Rating: - A pleasant surprise
Musicals are not my thing in the least. However, I have been intrigued to some extent by Repo! The Genetic Opera, mainly just by the sheer absurdity of it. Yet strangely, it all manages to somehow work, which you can hear for yourself with the film's soundtrack. The stars of Darren Lynn Bousman's (Saw II, III, & IV) gothic rock opera, Paul Sorvino, Alexa Vega, Sarah Brightman, Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Anthony Stewart Head, Bill Moseley, and Paris Hilton (yes, Paris Hilton) all manage to pull ...
