Introduction
With Roxio Creator 2009, a new front end menu is added. From this menu you choose the feature you want to use. The left side of the menu lists the main areas:

I had Nero and decided to try Roxio instead. Roxio 09 is much less buggy, but there is a price to pay. It offers much less features and control. Nero customer support was not helpful all the time. I have not had the need to try the Roxio customer support yet I'm still learning the program.
Rating:  - Tech deficient people can use it too
For years I've been able to get senior members of the family to use Roxio software and not just rely on device functions. There is a lot more control and versatility with using media editing programs. With the holidays nearing my father finally dumped his 8mm camcorder and got a digital one. It also reminded us that it was time to deal with the tapes and get rid of the 8mm player tapes. Roxio Creator 2009 is a great, comprehensive program to use. It allows you to burn DVDs, burn CDs, edit photos, copy disks, and it supports portable music players and HD. A cool feature is the ability to upload a file directly into YouTube for all the YouTube buffs. My favorite feature is how easy it is to make a slideshow, add music and transitions, and burn a DVD to play on a DVD Player. This is definitely a fun way to torture friends with vacation pictures. Give it a try.
Rating: - Beware of the Bloat - No Custom Install
Roxio Creator 2009
Roxio Creator 2009 does not have a custom/selective install capability. You have to load the entire package whether or not you need all its features! It takes around 1.5 gig on the hard drive. Some of Roxio's features probably duplicate those provided by Windows Vista and therefore are unnecessary. A selective install feature would really help this product.
