Customer Reviews Average Rating: out of 5 stars
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Works for me!
I short, I love it. The folks who don't love it are trying to make it do something other than what it intended to do. I love the fact that it's light. I love the fact that the keyboard is just big enough to touch type on (not so with the 8.9 inch machines). I love the fact that it comes set up and ready to go with all the software you need (and lots more). I love the fact that this particular model comes with a spacious solid-state drive! No hard drive to fail at the most inopportune moment, yah! ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very good product with excellent price/value ratio
This is a *very* good product. I tried a couple of netbooks with different sizes but this 10" works best for me. The screen and keyboard are nice and small but still big enough to work with.

I bought this version because I wanted a SSD, not a harddisk. The linux distro is kinda limited. I immediately replaced it with XP. Works like a charm!

There are a number of things you have to realize though:
1) in order to install a new OS you'll need an external USB CD drive. ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Ok, but with a lot to improve
+ easy to use default Xandros system, wireless network working out of the box (though I've replaced it w/ Ubuntu already)
+ pretty OK keyboard and display size
+ battery feels like it does not end (compared to my notebook..)
- way too NOISY! What's the point of whisper-less SSD when the CPU fan is like a tractor, noisier than both of my other computers together.
- cheap feeling, display cracks when you move it, touchpad buttons a bit too hard.
- 1GB RAM.. why not 2? The ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Solid Performance in a Netbook
I had doubts about whether I would like this computer, but good things can come in small packages.

There is nothing fancy as far as overall performance. If you want a high-powered laptop or a gaming machine, look elsewhere. But, if you want to run simple applications, do office word processing, take notes, or surf the internet this is a very nice little computer.

Out of the box, setup was very swift and easy. I love the Solid State Hard Drives on this model. It has both ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Side-effects of Xandros may include impatience, irritability, and in some cases, suicide.
Wonderful little machine, exactly what I was looking for, except the terrible Xandros linux OS that comes with it. I thought I'd be able to stick it out and try it for a while, but after 5 minutes I was looking into Ubuntu. Unless you're happy with a $500 fisher price toy, plan on installing a different version of linux or any kind of manageable operating system. If you cant do that, then get the 1000h with windows and save yourself the trouble.
Also, do not fool yourself into thinking this is ... Read More
