This i-pod is much better than it's predecessor however, the first one I ordered froze up after a week and it could not be restored. The great folks at Amazon though, exchanged it immediately. I received the new one in less than a week and have had no problems with it so far.
Rating:  - Never buy anything from apple
My son worked for 3 months to buy this with his own money. When he got it, it wouldn't work on our computer after 2 trips to the apple store their so called geniuses figured out that we were sold a used i pod and it had some water damage, but that isn't covered under the 1 year warrenty, so he is stuck with a broken i pod that he never got to use. This iPod replaces a Creative Zen Xtra 60 Gb MP3 player. The Zen started having cross-talk on all the tracks really bad, so I knew the hard drive was on the way out. Worse, I had recently synced the Zen, so all the files on my PC were corrupted as well. Rating: - Good product.
As a replacement for another iPod I've encountered this one, more cool, the battery has a long last (almost twice than previous generation), and despite of has a bigger capacity it is more ligth.
Please don't let your iPod inside the car in a hot day... that was the way that mine get toasted... :(
