The dirty little secret about the iPod Shuffle is its extraordinary battery life despite low cost. Simple iPod version without any frills. I have made three trips to Mumbai India from NY and it lasts the entire one-way trip on a single charge...awesome performance. I used Bose headphones for mainly less tiresome noise. And yes the same music repeated. I have another iPod with screen which fails the long airplane trip.

I enjoyed my shuffle for a long time. The only reason I moved up to the nano was so I could see what song was playing and have more control. The shuffle is like a radio that only plays songs you like and no commercials. It's good and it's cheap. What more do you want?
Rating: - Stopped working after a month
This stopped working after a month of my 9yr old granddaughter receiving it for Christmas. I don't know if she was too rough with it or if it was a faulty unit.
Rating: - After 2 years, still love it
I love my shuffle. It's still going strong after 2 years of heavy use during sports activities. When this one goes belly up, I'm going to get the new generation shuffle.
Rating: - Great little gadget
This thing is ultra-sturdy despite its flimsy appearance. I have dropped it numerous times onto the ground and it has scratches all over the body, somehow it still manage to work normally. I use it extensively but the battery still holds up pretty well.
